What Is Winging?
Winging or gliding is a procedure that you can do on various boards. Everyone can wing, and learning it would be pretty quick. Anyone searching for a chance to be on the water and experience the wonder of wind power can enjoy winging, regardless of their prior expertise with water sports.
The rider uses the wing to capture wind energy and propels them forward while standing on a board. This activity varies from wind-powered water sports in that the rider does not use a harness or board to attach the wing to their body. It makes it a fluid sport, which is why many people adore it.
What Is Wing Foiling?
Wing foiling is a method that allows the rider to propel themselves forward by using the same type of wings but with the help of hydrofoils. While advanced boards are substantially smaller and may sink beneath the weight of the rider but beginner boards will be larger and have more volume.
Why Should Kite Surfers Learn To Wing Foil Boards?
-
Simple:
Straightforward Sports have a lovely simplicity to them. It’s simpler to transport, takes less time to set up, and costs less to buy equipment.
-
Easy:
Learning the wing foil boards is surprisingly simple due to their simplicity. Having less equipment means having less to consider! Learning winging could be great fun and, at the same time, super adventurous too.
-
Cross-Offshore Winds:
When the wind blows in a cross-offshore direction in my local spot, it’s not the best for kitesurfing. On the beach, the wind is frequently highly gusty, making it difficult to control the kite and unexpected. I used to travel to different kitesurfing locations before winging. I can now stay close to home and fly into cross-offshore winds. This wind direction has turned out to be my favourite since it enables me to catch swell and drop a hand, which positions the wing in a neutral position.
-
Safe:
The sport carries minimal risk. The power a kite can produce is far greater than the power a wing can have. It is simple to self-rescue and paddle back into the beach like a standard surfboard because the boards tend to be considerably more buoyant.
-
Accessible:
Because there is little risk involved, both young and old can easily participate in winging. It’s the kind of sport that families can try on a calm beach day, as I indicated above.
